Data We Collect

• Nickname, email address, date of birth upon registration
• Optional profile information (bio, profile picture)
• IP address upon registration (security purposes)
• Location data at the time of each message sent
• Payment data (event organizers only) exclusively via Stripe — we do not store full card details
• Chat messages and location data — automatically and permanently deleted from our servers immediately after the chat ends (expired, denied, blocked or finished)

Data Retention (GDPR / DSGVO Art. 5)

• Chat messages & location data: deleted immediately after chat ends
• Profile data (nickname, email): until account deletion
• Payment data: 7 years (statutory obligation, Austria BAO §132)
• Abuse reports: 3 years

Location Data

Location data is collected exclusively at the time a message is sent and displayed to the chat partner. No continuous location tracking takes place.

Legal Basis

Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of contract) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interests). Location data is processed on the basis of explicit consent pursuant to Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.

Data Sharing

No automatic sharing with third parties. Data is only exchanged between chat participants. Exception: location data is automatically transmitted within an active chat.

In cases involving criminal offences, data may be disclosed upon official request.

§ 1 Scope

These Terms of Service apply to the use of nickradar (nickradar.com, app.nickradar.com). nickradar is a nickname contacting game for live events. By registering, you accept these terms in full.

§ 2 Registration

• Minimum age: 18 years
• Registration and app download are free
• One account per person
• Nickname must be unique and non-offensive (max. 20 characters)
• A valid email address is required

§ 3 Pricing and Payment

• nickradar is completely free for party guests
• Event organizers purchase token packages on events.nickradar.com — 1 token = 1 guest activation = EUR 1.00
• Minimum purchase: 50 tokens
• Token purchases are processed exclusively via Stripe (B2B)
• No subscriptions, no hidden costs
• nickradar reserves the right to adjust prices at any time. Registered users will be informed in advance.

§ 4 Contacting Rules

• Requests remain active for 12 hours
• A mutual YES opens a 48-hour chat
• NO: permanent mutual block — no further interactions possible
• EXPIRED (no reply): no cost — both parties may send new requests
• No reply does not count as rejection
• Chat messages and location data are permanently deleted from our servers immediately after the chat ends — regardless of the reason (expired, denied, blocked or finished)

§ 5 Community Rules

• No harassment, no spam, no abuse
• No false information about yourself
• No commercial activities without permission
• No sharing of illegal or discriminatory content
• Each user is responsible for their messages and profile content
• Violations result in immediate and permanent account suspension

§ 6 Awareness and Personal Responsibility

By displaying a nickradar nickname sticker at an event, the user agrees to being contactable via nickradar within that event context. nickradar is not liable for events that occur between users. Each user acts at their own responsibility.

§ 7 Platform Liability

nickradar provides technical infrastructure only. nickradar is not a party to contacts between users and is not liable for any resulting damages.

§ 8 Termination and Deletion

Account can be deleted at any time in the app. All data is permanently deleted after account deletion. Re-registration is possible at any time — however, the original nickname may already be taken. nickradar reserves the right to suspend accounts for violations without prior notice.

§ 9 Applicable Law

Austrian law applies. Place of jurisdiction: Austria.
